Capitals winger Tom Wilson will be a "game-time decision" ahead of Game 2 after leaving Game 1 with a lower-body injury in the first period, coach Peter Laviolette said Wednesday.
Wilson left Tuesday's game after scoring the game's first goal roughly four minutes into the first period and did not return. Afterward, Laviolette wouldn't disclose specifics about the injury and noted that Wilson was still being evaluated.
"Well any time a player doesn't finish a game there's a concern level with it, and so he's getting evaluated right now," Laviolette told reporters Tuesday night. "We'll see how he is tomorrow and go from there."
Laviolette wouldn't specify Wednesday whether Wilson would be ready to return for Game 2, allowing only that he's getting treatment and will be a game-time decision.
The Capitals and Panthers meet again Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at FLA Live Arena.
