Jose Canseco wouldn't mind if Alex Rodriguez walked into the cornfield at the Field of Dreams and never emerged again, like James Earl Jones did in the 1989 film.

Ahead of Thursday's New York Yankees-Chicago White Sox game at the site of the iconic movie in Iowa, Alex Rodriguez attempted to pay homage to the movie. Instead, he set Jose Canseco up to dunk on him:

Though both had stints with the Yankees and Texas Rangers, Rodriguez and Canseco never were teammates, but they have plenty of history together.

In Canseco's 2008 book "Vindicated: Big Names, Big Liars, and The Battle to Save Baseball," he alleged that he introduced Rodriguez to someone that supplied players with performance-enhancing drugs. In February of 2009, Rodriguez admitted to Peter Gammons that he had used PEDs during his three seasons with the Rangers from 2001-2003.

Part of that admission, though, was the insinuation that he stopped using them in 2004, his first season with the Yankees. That didn't turn out to be true, as Rodriguez was later suspended for the entire 2014 season because of his connection to the Biogenesis scandal.

Anyway, in addition to being a whistleblower on Rodriguez's baseball activities, Canseco also predicted that A-Rod would break up with his then-fiancee Jennifer Lopez in January of this year. Two months later, the couple broke up.
