The Yankees closer situation has become so dire that with two outs and the winning run at the plate in the bottom of the ninth of Friday’s game in Oakland, Aaron Boone called on Jameson Taillon to start warming up in the bullpen.

Wait, that wasn’t Taillon. It was Lou Trivino in the wrong jersey.

While Trivino was warming up in the bullpen, an Oakland ball boy calmly approached the Yankee righty with a jersey tucked under his arm, quietly letting Trivino know that he was actually wearing Taillon’s jersey. So Trivino had to quickly change his uniform while the Yankees tried to lock down a fifth straight win.

Trivino wound up not being needed as Wandy Peralta locked down his third save of the season, but he had already unintentionally made his impact on the game.

“I'm a meme now,” Trivino said. “It happens. Wasn't the first time, probably won't be the last.”

Trivino assumed he accidentally grabbed Taillon’s jersey, as his locker is next to Trivino’s leading to the comical moment that game during a tense moment in the ballgame. But thanks to the win, the Yanks were able to laugh about it afterward.
