Luke Voit swears on hot mic during Yankees spring training game: 'Good s–t, baby'

Sunday marked the first day of spring training games in 2021, which means broadcasts can get a little more creative with things they would not normally do in a regular season game.

Among those is mic’ing up players to join the broadcast booth for an inning, which can lead to some unique moments.

Luke Voit joined the YES Network in the fifth inning of the Yankees’ game against the Toronto Blue Jays and had one of these moments — which may also lead to an FCC complaint or two.

He did not say anything regrettable, but Voit may have forgotten he had a hot mic following Rob Brantly’s two-run home run.

Voit was stationed just outside the dugout and was one of the first to greet the 31-year-old spring training invite following the homer when play-by-play announcer Michael Kay asked Voit to provide some analysis.

“Good s—t, baby,” he said as he greeted Brantly.

Voit immediately recognized his untimely lapse in judgment and quickly said, “Oops, sorry.”

Voit had a chance at redemption when Mike Tauchman followed with a solo shot of his own to go back-to-back and the Yankees first baseman managed to keep it clean.

“The boys are boppin’ now,” he said.

Regardless of Voit’s slip-up, it is probably safe to say fans would like to see more of this.
