When Liam Hendriks has joined Audacy Chicago affiliate 670 The Score for interviews, as is the case with other outlets throughout the world of sports, he's good about censoring himself and keeping his language appropriate for all audiences. When mic'd up during the 2021 All-Star Game, feeling the heat of the competition and doing all he can to impress his peers against the very best that MLB has to offer? Not so much.

That doesn't mean it wasn't a hit for the majority of audiences, though, if the Twitter reaction to his NSFW quotes is any indication.
Whoops. After the game, Hendriks found out about his not-so-great choice of language while he was mic'd up — and also learned, more importantly, that he had been mic'd up.
But hey, can you blame him for wanting to be in the moment? After all, he came in against the formidable due up of Omar Narvaez (.300/.396/.469), Chris Taylor (.277/.382/.452), Ozzie Albies (.262/.323/.500) and Trea Turner (.318/.365/.520) in a close situation in the All-Star Game. That's something that not too many people can relate to, and you might not think about the fact that you need to keep your language in check if you were put in that situation.
For what it's worth, I, personally, am glad it happened. It was obviously entertaining live, and the Twitter reaction from the MLB community was just as great.
