The Atlanta Braves won't be facing Clayton Kershaw in Game 2 of the NLCS after all. The Los Angeles Dodgers announced their ace has been scratched from tonight's game due to back spasms.
Instead, right-hander Tony Gonsolin will take his place. He'll be up against the Braves rookie, Ian Anderson.
Kershaw has been battling a back injury most of the season. He was also scratched on opening day back in July.
So what does this mean for the Braves?
Kershaw has pitched well so far this postseason, allowing just three runs in 14 innings and striking out 19 in two starts (2-0).
Meanwhile, Gonsolin has not seen any postseason action. He made nine appearances in the regular season, going 2-2 with a 2.31 ERA and struck out 46 batters in 46.2 innings of work.
