(670 The Score) The White Sox have placed ace Lance Lynn on the 10-day injured list with right knee inflammation, they announced Tuesday before opening a series against the Pirates.
The move is retroactive to Sunday. Lynn, 34, was hit hard in his last start, allowing seven runs, all earned, in five innings of work in a loss to the Cubs on Saturday.
Lynn is having a terrific season, going 10-4 with a 2.59 ERA and 1.08 WHIP in 24 starts. He’s first in the American League in ERA and fourth in WHIP.

In other injury news, outfielder Billy Hamilton (oblique) is set to be activated Wednesday. Fellow outfielder Adam Engel (hamstring) will embark on a rehab assignment late this week, James Fegan of the Athletic reported.
