While the New York Yankees entered play Friday night tied with the Toronto Blue Jays for third place in the American League East, something happened that's sure to excite the fanbase about what the future could look like in the Bronx.

18-year-old Jasson Dominguez - already MLB Pipeline's No. 24 prospect in baseball - hit his first professional home run Friday while playing for the Low-A Tampa Tarpons:

The Yankees signed Dominguez out of the Dominican Republic in July of 2019, spending $5.1 million to secure his services. The outfielder is 5-foot-10, 190 pounds, and figures to continue to add muscle as he develops.

While MLB Pipeline estimates that Dominguez won't make his major-league debut until 2024, it wouldn't be especially shocking if he ends up with the High-A Hudson Valley Renegades before the season is finished.
