Yasiel Puig, who recently had agreed to terms with the Atlanta Braves, revealed on social media he has tested positive for COVID-19.

Although he reports he is asymptomatic, there was a clause in the agreement that stated he had to pass a physical and not test positive for COVID-19 before signing with the team.

According to Mark Bowman of MLB.com, Puig will not sign a contract with Atlanta and will return to the free-agent pool.

The 29-year-old Cuban outfielder hit 24 home runs in 149 games last season, split between Cincinnati and Cleveland. Over his seven-year career he's slashed .277/.348/475 with 132 home runs and 415 RBI.
