March Madness is officially here and teams have started to punch their tickets to the big dance. One of the teams who have punched their ticket to the tournament is Mount St. Mary’s and their Head Coach Dan Engelstad joined Inside Access.
Coach Engelstad joined Jason and Ken to talk about his team heading to the NCAA tournament, the uniqueness of recruiting during COVID and how his team managed to win the Northeast Conference. Coach Engelstad mentioned how happy he is for his team to be able to go dancing considering the emotionally draining year they endured. He talked about how happy he was that the program bounced back from having a poor season last year to being conference champions this year. When talking about the changes in the recruiting during COVID, Coach Engelstad mentioned how weird it was to not be able to meet the recruits and now they’re on his team.
Mount St. Mary’s basketball team awaits the Selection Show on Sunday to find out where they’ll be seeded.
