Charles Barkley is indeed joining LIV Golf.

The Hall of Fame basketball player and NBA analyst for TNT will participate in their next Pro-Am event, which is scheduled for next week at Trump National in Bedminster, New Jersey, Barkley told Andrew Marchand of the New York Post.

Barkley had met with Greg Norman this week about the possibility of joining LIV Golf as a broadcaster and is expected to receive an offer.

The 59-year-old is currently under contract with Turner for three more years and $30 million, per Marchand.

Radio host Dan Patrick had said earlier this week that Barkley told him he may have to leave his job with Turner if he accepts a broadcasting position with LIV Golf.

LIV Golf has been at the center of controversy due to its financial backing from Saudi Arabia. Golfers, such as Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson, have faced criticism for joining the tour and are said to be “sportswashing” — meaning they are helping soften the country’s image and legitimacy through sports despite its human rights abuses.

Barkley had actually been among the voices defending the golfers joining LIV, saying he is in no position to judge them and that "if someone gave me $200 million, I'd kill a relative."

While Barkley is an NBA analyst, he is an avid golf fan and has appeared on golf broadcasts for TNT due to his entertaining personality. LIV Golf is attempting to build a team of broadcasters as it continues to compete with the PGA Tour.
