DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Mavericks were down by two with less than two seconds left in the fourth quarter in Memphis when Luka Magic happened.
Doncic's off-balance floater from three-point range went straight through the bucket to give the Mavs a 114-113 win Wednesday night in Memphis.
The wild shot got the attention of the entire basketball community as players such as LeBron James and Tyson Chandler weighed in after the incredible shot went down.
In a postgame interview on Sports Center, Doncic said that he was losing his balance when he hoisted the shot and "was surprised when it went in."
“You pull off a miracle in a game like that once in a blue moon. ... Luka made one of the signature, special shots that you’re going to see for a long time,” Mavs head coach Rick Carlisle said after the game. "I can't tell you how many thousands of dollars I've lost to him on half-court shots. One time in Mexico City, our second year, I paid him off in pesos because I was so pissed about it. I don't bet him anymore."
Doncic finished the night with 29 points on 10-20 shooting and Porzingis chipped in 21 points of his own to help give the Mavs a crucial win in the Western Conference playoff race. Dallas is now just one game behind the Portland Trail Blazers for the No. 6 seed in the west.
