The Seattle Seahawks might be moving on from franchise cornerstones left and right, but one player they won’t be parting with, apparently, is DK Metcalf.

In an offseason that has seen the departures of Russell Wilson and Bobby Wagner, both the Seahawks and Metcalf have made clear that they plan on their working relationship continuing for a while.

Seattle head coach Pete Carroll (the same one said they weren't trading Wilson) reiterated over the weekend that Metcalf isn’t going anywhere, and appearing on the “Club Shay Shay” podcast with Shannon Sharpe, the wideout echoed the sentiment.

“I will say, we’re going to get something done,” Metcalf responded when Sharpe asked if his agency and the Seahawks had any contact. “I think I’m going to be in Seattle for the next coming years, yes sir.”

This has been a good offseason for wide receivers. A.J. Brown, Tyreek Hill and Davante Adams all have gotten enormous contracts, and Metcalf soon will be joining them.

He’s a free agent after this season, and he’s acutely aware of what’s on the horizon.

“It’s all smiles right now. It’s just a matter of when (I get paid),” Metcalf said. “I can’t stress over it, can’t think about it too much because I'm going to drive myself crazy. So I’ve just been enjoying this offseason, enjoying life and taking it a day at a time. I know it may sound cliche, but that's really how I’m living right now.”

Last season, Metcalf gutted through injuries and, despite setting a career best with 12 touchdown receptions, took a step back from his 2020 campaign.

Still, he is one of the game’s premier receivers, and there’s no reason to believe he won’t bounce back in 2022. He’ll get his monster deal in due course, and it sounds like you can put it in ink that it’ll be with Seattle.
