(SportsRadio 610) -- Just minutes after it was reported the Texans requested an interview with Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, one of Houston's greatest pro athletes ever spoke up.
That would be retired wide receiver Andre Johnson.
And Johnson spoke up about someone who's clearly driven a wedge within the organization: executive president of football operations Jack Easterby.
Johnson tweeted Tuesday afternoon:
If I’m @deshaunwatson, I will stand my ground. The Texans organization is known for wasting players careers. Since Jack Easterby has walk into the building nothing good has happened in/for the organization and for some reason someone can’t seem to see what’s going on. Pathetic!!!
Not only is this relevant because of Johnson's stature as a former great player, but he was also in and out of the building these past two seasons since Easterby's been in Houston. Johnson also maintains strong relationships with players on the team.
Johnson was a special advisor to Bill O'Brien in 2019 (the year Easterby was hired from the New England Patriots) before stepping away last season.
If the usually quiet Johnson is saying this, just imagine the frustration within the locker room.
For good measure, former Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins co-signed his ex-teammate.
