Wearing a Tom Brady Patriots jersey, Jerry Edmond attended his first NFL game Sunday at Allegiant Stadium, where he was taunted by a hostile Raiders fan, who got in his face after Chandler Jones’ game-winning touchdown (the result of an errant lateral by Jakobi Meyers). Video of the incident quickly went viral with Edmond applauded for maintaining his composure, keeping a calm demeanor despite being harassed by an abusive fan.

After his unpleasant experience in Vegas, the Patriots reached out to Edmond, inviting him to their game against the Bengals this weekend. Not only will Edmond, who happily accepted the invitation, get to go on the field, taking in pregame warmups before Saturday’s 1 PM ET kickoff, but he’ll also receive a custom jersey as a token of appreciation for representing the Patriots with class and humility.

“I wasn’t going to try to make a fool out of myself and try to make a big scene. I didn’t want to ruin anybody else’s night. At the end of the day, I came here to have fun at a game. I’m not about to let her ruin my experience,” Edmond told Audacy legal insider Amy Dash, appreciative of the outpouring of support he’s received, including from Patriots owner Robert Kraft, calling their conversation “a highlight of my life.” “We’re all there for one reason—to enjoy ourselves and support the teams that we have. It’s never that serious.”

The Patriots enter Saturday as three-point home underdogs, likely needing a win to keep their faint playoff hopes alive. That won’t be easy, particularly against a surging Bengals team riding a six-game winning streak.
