The Cowboys might have lost Sunday, but Jerry Jones is far from putting heavy blame on Dak Prescott.

Dallas fell 28-23 to the top team in the league, the Eagles, on Sunday. It was an important showing for the Cowboys despite the loss, as they needed to prove they could hang with the league’s best after getting dispatched by the 49ers earlier in the season.

Although Prescott and the Cowboys offense couldn’t seal the deal late in the game, it was a solid showing – with teammate Micah Parsons going as far as declaring that the quarterback outplayed everybody in the loss.

The 30-year-old finished 29-of-44 in the air for 374 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. He added 14 yards on the ground in six attempts with a fumble as he continues to use his legs more in Mike McCarthy’s offense.

Jones was not short on praise for his quarterback during his weekly appearance Tuesday on Shan & RJ.

“I think I saw where that’s the most pressures we’ve had on (Dak), that just shows again what kind of game he played,” Jones said. “He was outstanding, the game that he played. We should be able to get there if Dak can play games like that.

“Now, I know that’s maybe a little different thing to hear from me, but if Dak can have those kinds of games, we can, I think, get to where we want to be this year.”
