A lot of the concerns that were surrounding the Dallas Cowboys were on display in the second half of Sunday’s meltdown.

Facing a fringe playoff contender in the Jaguars, the Cowboys on Sunday took their foot off the gas and coughed up a 17-point lead to Jacksonville. The Jaguars ended up forcing overtime, ultimately securing the win 40-34 on a Dak Prescott pick-six.

Whether it was the poor offensive line play, Prescott’s propensity for throwing interceptions, or one of their other issues out of a handful, a lot of potentially big problems showed up in the loss.

That was apparent to Jerry Jones, who said Tuesday in his weekly appearance on “Shan and RJ” that they got “exposed” in a few different areas.

“We have several things that we need to work on and improve,” Jones said. “I thought Dak either said it or implied it, and that is we were going to go back and try to take the areas that we need to get better in, certainly before we get into the playoffs, and work on those. But that game exposed several areas for us to work on, on defense as well as offense.

“So after the dust settles, I look at it and go to work, use these next three weeks to basically look at it, put some different personnel in different places, look at how they play. Possibly take a player like (Leighton) Vander Esch and get him ready to go, not planning on him this week, but certainly get him ready to go. Look at personnel as well as how we’re implementing the personnel.”

Every team in the NFL has issues, but everything melting down at once against a sub-.500 team isn't a great look for obvious reasons. Now, the Cowboys have three games to button things up in order to ensure their current flaws don't become fatal flaws in January.
