Micah Parsons invites teammates over for Thanksgiving: 'My mom makes enough for about 100 people'

By , Audacy Sports

The Cowboys have a lot to be thankful for this season, and Micah Parsons might be at the top of that list. Never mind how he ranks among rookies on the defensive side of the ball; he's been one of the more productive defensive players this season, period, with 8.0 sacks, 13 tackles for loss, 18 QB hits, a pair of forced fumbles and a 92.6 pass rush grade on Pro Football Focus, which ranks first among all linebackers in the league.

But his contributions to the Cowboys transcend the football field, and Thanksgiving was a perfectly appropriate time for his latest and greatest deed.

In a group chat with all of his teammates, Parsons extended a generous invitation for the holiday — and revealed just how much food fills the Parsons household this time of year (via Jon Machota).

"If you don't got your family in town or your wife don't feel like cooking (for Thanksgiving), you're more than welcome to come to my house," Parsons sent to the rest of the Cowboys. "My mom makes enough for about 100 people. Anybody can come. I always enjoy bonding."

Enough food for 100 people? My mom gets frazzled preparing dinner for just five or six people — and she deserves all the credit in the world for doing so! — so I can't even imagine what the prep time is like when you're multiplying that portion size by 20. But more important than the logistics of the situation is the fact that Parsons, at just 22 years old and in his first NFL season, is already taking on such a large leadership role on and off the field.
