Patrick Mahomes was on track to be the quarterback with the most playoff experience this postseason. Then Joe Flacco returned to the NFL and started carving up opposing defenses.

Flacco has buoyed the Browns this season since Deshaun Watson went down for the year, and now he has Cleveland looking like a legitimate contender with the postseason about to begin.

The Browns are 4-1 since Flacco took over, and in those five games the 38-year-old is 123-for-204 in the air for 1,616 yards with 13 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

Flacco and the Browns quickly have become one of the most fascinating stories in the NFL, and Mahomes told 610 Sports Radio’s The Drive that Flacco’s play has blown him away.

“Dude, I watched some tape on Joe over this bye week and he’s making some of the most unreal throws I think I’ve ever seen," Mahomes said. "He’s playing some great football and I’m excited for him, man. He’s doing a great job.”

The Browns will face the Texans in the wild card round. If it happens, Mahomes and Flacco squaring off in the postseason would be a matchup not many would have predicted a few months ago.
