There's some big news out of Green Bay this morning, as Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has tested positive for COVID-19, according to reports:
The positive test means that Rodgers will be placed on the team's COVID19/reserve list, and will not play in this weekend's game against the Chiefs. Practice squad QB Kurt Benkert tested positive for COVID earlier in the week, meaning that the only quarterback currently eligible to play this Sunday is backup Jordan Love, who looks to be in line to make his first career start.
Rodgers' positive test raises some additional questions, as it's being reported that despite telling reporters otherwise in August, Rodgers has not been vaccinated:
Because he's reportedly unvaccinated, Rodgers will have to follow the same protocols that were implemented in 2020. He'll have to be isolated for a 10 day period, and will be allowed to return to the team if he's asymptomatic. He'll also have to enter five-day quarantine period if he has any close contact with an infected individual.
