Tiger Woods shared a sweet moment with his son Charlie after the 11-year-old turned heads with an impressive sequence of shots.
Tiger appeared elated when Charlie tapped in for eagle on a par-5 during the opening round of the PNC Championship, a parent-child tournament.
Team Woods -- clad in matching short-sleeved purple shirts, black pants, and black caps -- shared some high-fives and a tender father-son embrace after Charlie's first career "highlight," which came in his national TV Debut.
The modest assembling of onlookers clapped and cheered as Charlie cooly retrieved his ball and tipped his cap.
Charlie hit all three strokes for his tandem on the hole, including a bold second shot with a 5-wood from the fairway that settled within feet of the cup.
The Woodses shot a strong 62, tied with six other pairings for sixth place at 10-under par. Matt Kuchar and son Cameron led at 14-under.
The PNC Championship appearance caps a year marked by increased public exposure for Charlie Woods, including a dominant showing at a summer tournament in Florida, which he won by six strokes.
The performance made headlines, as did Tiger's appearance at the event -- as Charlie's caddie.
Charlie's participation was announced last month, with Tiger saying it marked an exciting first in his decorated career. He expressed concern about whether Charlie was too young, but said he felt better after conferring with tournament officials and fellow players whose children participated at similar ages.
Of course Charlie is a relative late-bloomer compared to his father, who was identified as a prodigy and appeared on the Mike Douglas Show as early as age 2.
