Orioles GM Mike Elias joined the Big Bad Morning Show on Thursday, as the O's are winding down their 2021 season. For a team like the O's, the last month of the Major League season is a proving ground for the younger players in the organization. It's an opportunity for those guys to make sure they're part of the team's future. According to the GM, Jorge Mateo and Ramon Urias are two players that have done just that. Listen in to the BBMS' conversation with Mike Elias as he discusses Jorge's two-month audition and why the team decided to shut things down due to a nagging injury.

Mike also discusses the fact the O's are towards the top of the draft order and how teams can't intentionally lose just to go after a higher draft pick. 'Tanking,' one of the many buzzwords in baseball today, has it's pitfalls and doesn't always lead to a brighter future. Listen in as Mike explains why with Ed, Rob, and Jeremy.
