Today marks the one-year anniversary of the helicopter crash that took the life of Kobe and Gianna Bryant, along with seven others, in Los Angeles. It's hard to believe it's been that long, considering all the world has been through in the last 12 months. While it was very hard to process losing such a prolific athlete in such a shocking way, today should be seen as a day of celebration for a man who did so much for so many.
The Undefeated's Jerry Bembry joined the Big Bad Morning Show on Tuesday to reflect on Kobe and why he should be seen as more than a basketball player. After Kobe's passing, stories of how he helped people started to rise to the surface. Whether it was young basketball players looking for advice or families who were facing terrible tragedies, Kobe was there as a mentor and friend. Listen in as Jerry recounts how Kobe was evolving from one of the world's greatest athletes into one of the world's great humanitarians. And of course, as is tradition when Jerry Bembry joins the Big Bad Morning Show, there's some discussion on the New York Knicks. Plus a story about a certain establishment in Atlanta, Georgia who has a reputation for chicken wings, among other things.
