Is Groundhog Day still a thing? According to PETA, the younger generation isn't interested in Groundhog Day therefore, it's time for Punxsatawney Phil to be retired and replaced with a robot! Well, let's not get crazy!
I love animals and Puxsatawney Phil groundhogs are housed in a man-made zoo that is climate controlled and light regulated and is connected to the Punxsutawney Memorial Library, according to the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club website. The animal rights organization asked the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club in a letter to change the decades-old tradition in which Punxsutawney Phil predicts whether we’ll see an early end to winter.
This is an old tradition where thousand come out for the event on Groundhog's Day which has taken place as far back as the late 1800s. Well, I love animals and I love traditions so, since Phil is well cared for and this is a great annual event, I'm going to have to say "We'll have more Groundhog Day's with Phil." ~grace
