PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A celebrity guest host on "Jeopardy!" has helped a small Delaware county non-profit organization make some big moves.
Moves as big as $257,998.
That's how much money "60 Minutes" correspondent and Delaware Valley native Bill Whitaker was paid for celebrity guest-hosting "Jeopardy!" for two weeks.
It's also how much he's donating to Media Fellowship House, a move that left Executive Director Heather Bickley in awe.
"We were very humbled and honored to be selected by Mr. Whitaker to be his recipient," Bickley said.
Bickley says the non-profit was co-founded by Whitaker's mother. It focuses on creating spaces for diversity, inclusion, and racial justice.
"It's going to be transformational for our organization," she said. "It's going to really empower us to expand our programming and increase our impact in a way that we never dreamed possible."
Bickley says they're currently looking at ways to invest the money in fair and affordable housing in Delaware County.
