The 2026 MusiCares Person of the Year took a break between honors this week, to call into The Big Tigger Morning Show in Atlanta, to talk about her latest chapter, her upcoming performance at the Winter Olympics, and to clear up a few rumors along the way.

Next month Mariah will be a part of the Opening Ceremony at the Winter Olympics in Italy. "I can't believe it," she says. "I have to sing in Italian." It's just the latest in a long line of honors for Mimi, who has been getting her flowers a lot recently from The Recording Academy, MTV, BET, and beyond. "It really feels good, especially with having a new album out and everything, to be recognized in that way was amazing."

Tigger also did his best to clear up some rumors, including that there is a collab with Michael Jackson that Mariah has recorded, that has yet to be released. "Who told you about that?"

"I did a record that, Michael had already done it," she clarifies. "It's one of his old classics and it's so good, and I just added, we made it into a duet, and they've got a lot of things coming out on Michael, so they didn't want me to use it on the album."

But will her duet with the King of Pop see the light of day? "I really hope so because I love it," she adds.
