Jobs & Investment Coming To Pickens

The South Carolina Department of Commerce says manufacturing company IPSUM Technologies is set to invest $19.2 million in a new space in Pickens County.The investment announced Wednesday is expected to create about 55 jobs. The state Coordinating Council for Economic Development awarded a $500,000 grant to the county for costs related to the project.Former Gov. Nikki Haley's husband, Michael, is a partner and adviser for the company, which focuses on high-technology sectors such as aerospace and defense.A DOC release says hiring is expected to start this fall for positions at the Liberty site. It says the jobs will typically require engineering or high-tech manufacturing skills.
