The Spartanburg Police Department continue to seek ways of improving the safety of our roadways through education and enforcement.
As Spartanburg area schools launch operations next week, we encourage all of our citizen drivers to remain knowledgeable of the traffic laws, specifically relating to our school zones and bus stops.
Despite the modified schedules due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be an increase of traffic on most days during the week.
Drivers should slow down below the posted speed limits while traveling through school zones.
Countless pedestrians will trek to and from area schools during mornings and afternoons.
Keep a watchful eye for our children, their parents and the School Crossing Guards; their safety is paramount.
Over the course of the school year, our Traffic Team members will conduct compliance checks to address aggressive driving in the many school zones within our community.
