After an interview with Oprah left the royal family scrambling for answers, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are standing by the accusations they made in their tell-all interview.

Now, friend of Meghan Markle and TV presenter Gayle King has revealed that the Duke of Sussex has allegedly had conversations with his brother William and his father Charles for the first time following the interview.

"Well, I'm not trying to break news, but I did actually call them to see how they were feeling, and it's true, Harry has talked to his brother and he has talked to his father, too," King began on CBS This Morning on Tuesday.

She continued, "The word I was given was that those conversations were not productive. But they are glad that they have at least started a conversation."

King later added, "No one in the royal family has talked to Meghan yet, at this particular time."

In the interview with Oprah, Markle made claims suggesting the existence of racism in the royal family, as there were apparent conversations regarding concerns over the color of Archie's skin. Markle also revealed that her mental health suffered as a result of actions by the royal family.

"I think it's frustrating for them to see that it's a racial conversation about the royal family when all they wanted all along was for the royals to intervene and tell the press to stop with the unfair, inaccurate, false stories that definitely have a racial slant," King noted.

She continued, "And until you can acknowledge that, I think it's going to be hard to move forward. But they both want to move forward with this and they both want healing in this family. At the end of the day, that is Harry's family."

In the days following the Oprah tell-all, Prince William responded to claims of racism among the royal family. "We're very much not a racist family," he said to a reporter.

Prince William was also asked if he had talked to his brother since the interview, and at the time, he responded, "I haven't spoken to him yet but I will do."

Queen Elizabeth also released a statement following the claims made in the interview, saying, "The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan."

"The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning," the statement continued. "While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.

"Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members," the statement continued.
