Referring to those questions she recently asked about Sexyy Red, Sherri clarified, “People keep forgetting, when you are asked a question, you just answer it.”
She continued, "So what I was asked, is would she come on my show, and I said no. Because first of all we ain’t even the same age, she would be sitting there going ‘Hey Auntie.’ She probably has no idea who I am, her mama do… So I didn’t say anything that was not nice.”
“As for the other question,” Sherri went on to say, noting she was asked about Sexyy Red’s “Pound Town” song, “all I said was I come from a place, an era, where you left things to the imagination. There’s a whole generation of girls that are looking at everybody on social media.”
“To whom much is given much is required, if you are influencing a generation. And what I also said, is that there’s not enough on the other side,” Sherri added. “I’m not saying that they’re not out there… they just don’t get the airplay.”
Continuing the conversation of how the terms and actions of female empowerment were very different for her generation, Sherri expressed that while she’s not “judging,” she does believe some things should have remained, and that some words shouldn’t be reclaimed and changed, using Amber Rose’s "Slut Walk" as an example.
Also up for discussion, Will and Jada's separation, her breast reduction, and having no intention of getting remarried. To hear it all, listen to the entire interview above.
