The Reel Buzz: 'The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers' gets a premiere date for Disney+

Disney+ has blessed fans of "The Mighty Ducks" with a teaser trailer and release date for the follow-up series to the '90s original movies. "The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers" will be available for streaming on March 26.

The series stars Lauren Graham, Brady Noon, and Emilio Estevez, and will be available for a 10-episode run. Estevez will be reprising his role as Coach Gordon Bombay from the 1992 movie and its 1994 and 1996 sequels, Deadline reports.

Also on the team are Maxwell Simkins, Swayam Bhatia, Luke Islam, Kiefer O'Reilly, Taegen Burns, Bella Higginbotham, and DJ Watts.

The premise of the series is a story that takes place in present-day Minnesota, where the Mighty Ducks have gone from the underdogs to a powerhouse youth hockey team.

When Evan Morrow (Noon) is cut from the team, he and his mother Alex (Graham) set out to create their own team which will later go on to challenge the Ducks. With the help of Coach Bombay, the players rediscover their love of the game.

The teaser trailer features Graham as she encourages her son to start the new team and renew his love for the game.

The original movie sparked the creation of the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in 1993, now known as the Anaheim Ducks.

Steve Brill is the creator, writer, and executive producer of the "Mighty Ducks" films, and he co-created and executive produces the upcoming series. He joins showrunners Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa as well as director Michael Spiller.

In December, the franchise launched the first trailer for the series, featuring the return of Estevez as Coach Bombay. Fans are hopeful they will see more familiar faces in the upcoming series.
