LSU AD refers to Nick Saban, Jimbo Fisher as 'two hillbillies fightin''

Nick Saban and Jimbo Fisher are now getting shots from a familiar LSU face.

The Tigers’ Director of Athletics, Scott Woodward, appeared on “The Paul Finebaum Show” last week to discuss all things SEC when the conversation shifted to the Alabama head coach’s war of words he exchanged with Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher.

“I’m not going to get in between two hillbillies fightin’ from West Virginia,” Woodward said. “That’s a no-win situation.”

Of course, Woodward is rather familiar with both of the head coaches, who have been feuding over utilizing NIL deals.

Woodward worked in LSU’s athletic department from 2000-2004 when Saban was the head coach and Fisher was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach of the Tigers at the time.

He was also previously the athletic director at Texas A&M from 2016-19 and was the one who actually hired Fisher as the Aggies’ head coach in 2017.
