It would appear that after flirting with a return to the NFL for the second straight offseason, Jim Harbaugh will remain the head coach at the University of Michigan.

What this means is that for at least another season, Harbaugh will continue to coach his Alma mater, who he guided to a second consecutive appearance in the College Football Playoffs this past season.
Harbaugh went 44-19-1 in four years as the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, including leading the team to an appearance in Super Bowl XLVII. Harbaugh interviewed with the Minnesota Vikings last offseason, while also doing the same with the Denver Broncos this past week.
A report from The Athletic earlier this month had indicated that Harbaugh planned to accept an NFL offer if he received one. But while Harbaugh left him self some wiggle room, he did issue a statement through the football program saying that he believed he would coach at Michigan in 2023:
Either the 59-year-old didn't think an NFL offer was coming and decided to save face, or he doesn't believe that the right position is open for him to return to the sport's highest stage this year.
