There was some uncertainty about whether or not Stroud, a third-year sophomore, would declare for the draft as he had not made a decision and the deadline was Monday.

But Stroud posted his decision in a statement he released on social media.

Stroud could potentially be the top quarterback in the 2023 NFL Draft. In two seasons at Ohio State, Stroud finished in the top-five Heisman Trophy voting twice — fourth in 2021 and third this year — throwing for 8,123 yards, 85 touchdowns to just 12 interceptions through 25 games.

Other top quarterbacks in this year’s draft class include Alabama’s Bryce Young and Kentucky’s Will Levis.
