The New York Jets are still negotiating with the Green Bay Packers for the services of Aaron Rodgers, but while a deal has not formally been reached, Gang Green head coach Robert Saleh says it’s nothing to sweat about.
“You guys know me, I’m a positive thinker,” Saleh told reporters at the NFL owners meetings in Arizona on Monday. “I’m sure they’ll eventually figure something out.”

Rodgers revealed earlier this month that he intends to play in 2023 for the New York Jets, but he remains a Green Bay Packer as the two teams must reach an agreement on compensation for the 39-year-old quarterback.
While it would seem that both sides should be incentivized to get a deal done sooner than later, Saleh said there is “no urgency” if the quarterback understands the system. Of course, Rodgers is familiar with offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett from their time together in Green Bay.
“You’d always like to [have the deal done],” he said. “It takes two to tango, so it’s just a process. We respect the process and whenever it gets done, it’ll get done.”
While Rodgers is still technically a Packer, Saleh was comfortable enough to acknowledge Zach Wilson as the No. 2 quarterback on the depth chart.
“I really still think Zach has a future in this league,” Saleh said. “He has the work ethic. He has the mindset…we’re counting on him to be a fixture here for a while.”
