The NFL, NBA and MLB are comprised of athletes from all over the map, but some states and schools have produced more professional athletes than others.
According to a report from The Action Network, Texas leads the way with the most active athletes from the state in the three major sports, followed by California, Florida and Ohio.
Per the report, 250 athletes hail from the Lone Star state with 50 of them coming from the University of Texas, with 34 in the NFL, 13 in the NBA and three in MLB.
California has 215 pros while Florida has 179 and Ohio 169.
The University of Alabama has produced the most pro athletes out of college, though, with 82. Of that 82, 74 are playing in the NFL after spending time at Nick Saban’s powerhouse football program.
The universities to follow Alabama were Ohio State, Florida, Louisiana State and Michigan, all courtesy of its football programs.
At the bottom of the list were the lesser populated states such as Vermont, which has just Houston Rockets forward Anthony Lamb in the NBA. New Hampshire, Montana and Maine all have just two athletes in the NFL/NBA/MLB while the District of Columbia has five, with Georgetown producing four NBA players.
