Trump says ‘of course’ Lee Harvey Oswald didn't act alone in JFK assassination

President Donald Trump shared his thoughts on the assassination of former President John F. Kennedy on Sunday, noting that he thinks Lee Harvey Oswald, the killer, had help.

Trump shared his thoughts while speaking with Outkick radio host Clay Travis, who had asked about the release of thousands of files related to the presidential murder that Trump had ordered last week.

“Do you think Oswald killed JFK personally?” Travis asked.

“I do, and I always felt that,” Trump replied. “Of course, he was … helped.”

The Department of Justice has maintained for decades that Oswald acted alone to kill Kennedy, despite the conspiracy theories that have circulated about the murder.

Oswald was charged with Kennedy’s assassination but denied any wrongdoing related to the shooting. He never saw a trial, however, as he was killed two days after the 1963 assassination.

As for the president’s thoughts on the matter, the files released showed no evidence that Oswald had an accomplice.

Trump also acknowledged that the files, in general, were “somewhat unspectacular,” which he said may be “a good thing” after all.

“I don’t think there’s anything that’s earth-shattering,” Trump said of the documents.

Still, JFK’s family has criticized Trump’s release of the files, which some have claimed were for political points among his supporters.

Jack Schlossberg, JFK’s grandson, called out Trump and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., for the release of the 2,200 files.

“No — THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION DID NOT GIVE ANYONE IN PRESIDENT KENNEDY’S FAMILY ‘A HEADS UP’ABOUT THE RELEASE a total surprise, and not shocker !! But @RobertKennedyJr definitely knew,” Schlossberg said Tuesday in a post on X.

Schlossberg doubled down on Wednesday, saying that Trump “is obsessed with my grandfather — but not in his life or what he achieved in it.”

“No, just like @robertfkennedyjr @realdonaldtrump is only interested in JFK’s carcass,” Schlossberg added. “These men are stealing history from present and future generations — by appropriating the past for their criminal agenda, they normalize themselves in the minds of those without living memory.”
