Aaron Nola gets the ball for the Philadelphia Phillies tonight at Citi Field for a monumental Game 3 of the 1-1 best-of-five NLDS series.
"This is why you pay Aaron Nola $170 million," Joe DeCamara said on Tuesday's 94WIP Morning Show. "And I mean that in a two-fold way—one to get to this moment, which he obviously helps you get to this moment and two to win this moment.
"I'm nervous just because I'm pretty much always nervous and it's always scary when your team is two games away from elimination, but I've got tremendous confidence in Aaron Nola...Which says that he's really done a lot over the last two years to instill that confidence in me and I think for a lot of us. You go back three, four, five years ago...he had disappointed a lot."
"I expect the Phillies to win tonight, I really do and I think the main reason is Aaron Nola."
Nola is 5-3 with a 3.70 ERA, 50 strikeouts and nine walks in nine career playoff starts with the Phils.
Sean Manaea gets the ball for the Mets. Manaea is 0-3 with a 10.66 ERA in three career playoff starts.
However, Manaea has been excellent this season going 12-6 with a 3.47 ERA in 32 starts with 184 strikeouts and 63 walks. Opponents are hitting just .195 off of the lefty in the 16 games he's pitched at Citi Field this season.
The Phillies are -112, while the Mets are -104 with the o/u at 7 runs on FanDuel Sportsbook.
First pitch is at 5:08 p.m. E.T. You can listen on 94.1 WIP-FM or the free Audacy app.
