How’s THIS for a surprise: while Joe Giglio and Hugh Douglas were discussing the idea of Nick Sirianni being a ‘great’ head coach, they got a call from ‘Brandon in Philadelphia’ – last name, Graham – with a little input, fresh out of his surgery for a torn triceps!
“Hey, he’s great!” BG said. “But what I say about Nick is he always talks about them details, and situational ball, and every year has gotten better. It wasn't perfect in the beginning, he was kind of getting them early jitters out, but he’s so far removed from that, and like you say, all he does is win is because we got his back.”
Hugh says he’s very good and Joe says he’s good, but neither will go to great…but hey, one of his players will vouch for him.
“That speaks a big testament to him and his staff, Howie, and the way everyone is communicating, including Jalen letting him know what he likes and doesn’t like, and trying to figure it out together,” Graham said. “I think that Nick has done a great job each and every year of just getting better, policing himself on what he's not good at – because he goes off on himself in the meetings and stuff people don’t see. You know how it is, Hugh, it’s like, if coaches don't hold themselves accountable and it's all about all the player, you know. People don’t see that part, they just see some of his decisions, but we trust him, and we know he’s gonna be aggressive. I understand we ain't gonna make all of them, but with the trust that we got together as a team, we got his back.”
This eight-game winning streak, BG says, is just showing fans what the team has been seeing in practice, especially him with the edge rushers he got to watch from the sidelines for the first time.
