Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Avonte Maddox has a torn pectoral muscle and will have surgery this week, according to Ian Rapoport. He will be out indefinitely, potentially for the entire season.

Maddox, 27, suffered the injury in the second quarter of Thursday's win over the Minnesota Vikings.

Maddox is in his sixth season with Philadelphia and already has two passes defended, a forced fumble, and a tackle for a loss this season.

Maddox, who was a fourth round pick of the Eagles in 2018, has primarily been a slot corner for Philadelphia throughout his career. He has had a productive career, but has played more than 13 games in a season just once (2021) and missed eight games last year with a hamstring injury.

The injuries are starting to pile up for the Eagles, as starting outside CB James Bradberry missed Thursday's game with a concussion. LB Nakobe Dean is out a few weeks with a foot injury. Safety Reed Blankenship and running back Kenneth Gainwell both missed Thursday's game with rib injuries.
