There was a familiar face among the frozen fans at Lambeau Field on Saturday for many baseball fans across the country watching the game.
Yep, former Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez was braving the elements in the 12-degree snow while taking in the divisional round playoff game between the Packers and 49ers.
The FOX cameras found Rodriguez alongside a blonde lady friend in the fourth quarter of the game braving the elements with the rest of the fans while wearing a Green Bay puff ball winter hat.
But why was Rodriguez, a Miami native, New York resident and part Timberwolves owner (the latter may not go over well with his fan base in the next state over) at Lambeau Field in the freezing cold cheering on the Packers?
As The Sporting News pointed out, the cameras found Rodriguez shortly after a Fox cross-promotion with one of its MLB studio hosts in the fourth quarter. A-Rod is a Fox studio analyst during the MLB postseason, so there’s that.
And while the cameras may have found A-Rod amongst the common fans, his Instagram story showed he was eating dinner in a suite earlier in the game. SSo, you can take that for what it’s worth.
But, in a Twitter post after the game, A-Rod indicated that attending a playoff game at Lambeau Field was a bucket-list item for him to check off.
Whatever his reasoning, fans on social media appeared to have some fun with it. From noticing a wardrobe change into Packers gear, to how the Packers lost the game after he was shown on TV, fans could not help but have something to say about A-Rod in Lambeau.
