Giannis Antetokounmpo has officially been named the 2019-20 Defensive Player of the Year.
Antetokounmpo joined an elite group of players to win both MVP and Defensive Player of the Year in their careers. Antetokounmpo became the fifth player in NBA history to do so, Tuesday night. The only other players to win both awards in their careers are Kevin Garnett, Hakeem Olajuwon, Michael Jordan, and David Robinson.
Antetokounmpo is the first Bucks player to win the award since Sidney Moncrief in both 1982-83 and 1983-1984.
The voting was not close. Giannis finished with 75 first place votes. Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers finished in second place with 14 first place votes. Giannis' teammate, Brook Lopez got four third place votes.
