It should come as no surprise that there is financial inequality in baseball, a sport without a salary cap.
The Brewers, a small market team who has made the playoffs the last three seasons, has one of the franchise's highest payrolls at a little over $100 million.
The large market Dodgers, with a massive TV contract, have a payroll of almost $250 million, a 150% increase over a small market team with the 19th largest payroll in the Brewers.
How is that fair? How do we fix this?
While the easy answer is a salary cap, it's not that easy. Ramie and Tim spent some time debating how to make it fair, and brought a few ideas from The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal as well.
