His works have appeared in films, commercials and episodic dramas and comedies, and he is highly sought after studio session performer appearing on many recordings.
He’ll be featured along with blues artist Patty Reese and hosts Paul and Cheryl Reisler on Kid Pan Alley’s free livestream series, Because We Have Music, on January 23rd at 7pm ET.
Carroll’s songs have been recorded by artists including Linda Ronstadt, Kenny Rogers, and Tom Jones. He’s toured for many years with Mary Chapin Carpenter, the Dixie Chicks, Rodney Crowell, and Eric Lindell as well as on his own as a solo artist. Carpenter calls him, “a one man band, a poet, a songwriter, a singer of every kind of song and above all, a musician’s musician…and I can also attest to his being a not-to-be-missed performer.”
