Lt. Hien Vu, a resident of Virginia Beach, Virginia, is playing a critical role in the U.S. Navy’s efforts to maintain a healthy and ready fighting force in the face of the Coronavirus pandemic.
As a public affairs officer serving with Navy Public Affairs Support Element East in Norfolk, Virginia, Hu is one of the 139 service members assigned to Task Force Southeast - Jacksonville, the primary Department of Defense (DoD) support organization for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) response to COVID-19.
"I tell the Navy stories of officers and sailors by connecting them with the American people via the media," said Vu. "I ensure America knows about our important role in this whole-of-government effort to fight this deadly pandemic."
