Country star, actor, and national treasure Dolly Parton just gave the world one more reason to love her wholeheartedly.

Addressing a bill up for consideration in Tennessee to have a statue placed on the Capitol grounds honoring the icon for all that she has contributed to her home state, Dolly has humbly asked that the proposal be scrapped until a more appropriate time.

"I want to thank the Tennessee legislature for their consideration of a bill to erect a statue of me on the Capitol grounds. I am honored and humbled by their intention but I have asked the leaders of the state legislature to remove the bill from any and all consideration," Parton explained in a statement on social media.

"Given all that is going on in the world, I don't think putting me on a pedestal is appropriate at this time. I hope, though, that somewhere down the road several years from now or perhaps after I'm gone if you still feel I deserve it, then I'm certain I will stand proud in our great State Capitol as a grateful Tennessean. In the meantime, I'll continue to try and do good work to make this great state proud."

Go ahead, wipe the tears away. We'll wait...

This is not the first time Parton has respectfully declined to be honored by government leadership. Former President Donald Trump’s administration wanted to award her the Presidential Medal of Freedom, twice, but she turned them down.

"I couldn't accept it because my husband was ill and then they asked me again about it and I wouldn't travel because of the COVID," Dolly explained earlier this month. After again hearing from President Joe Biden’s administration about the award, she admitted feeling "if I take it, I'll be doing politics, so I'm not sure."

Parton has been at the forefront of the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, even offering a million-dollar donation to help get the Moderna vaccine off the ground.

Late last year, Dolly's sister, Stella, called out politicians who have already received the vaccine and did not contribute funding saying, "if a little Hillbilly singer like my big sister Dolly can invest in the vaccine then why the hell can’t some of you old moldy politicians pitch in a few million yourselves?"
