Sharing that BeyGOOD is taking action, the foundation announced via Instagram that an L.A. Fire Relief Fund had been started by her charity, pledging a donation of $2.5 million. “Los Angeles we stand with you. 🫶🏽” the post’s caption began. “BeyGOOD is taking action by announcing the LA Fire Relief Fund with a donation of 2.5 million dollars.”
“The fund is earmarked to aid families in the Altadena/Pasadena area who lost their homes, and to churches and community centers to address the immediate needs of those affected by the wildfires,” the caption continued. “To show your support for the impacted families and to learn more about BeyGOOD’s mission, please visit beygood.org."
The fund was additionally promoted with a follow-up post that reiterated the purpose of The BeyGOOD LA Fire Relief Fund, noting it “will directly support families who lost their homes and community organizations at the forefront of relief and rebuilding efforts.” Politely urging folks to “Please support with whatever you can.”
Less than a day after, Beyoncé, now on her personal page, made another announcement, sharing her updated plans to postpone her January 14 announcement “to a later date due to the devastation caused by the ongoing wildfires around areas of Los Angeles.”
“I continue to pray for healing and rebuilding for the families suffering from trauma and loss,” Beyoncé’s message continued. “We are so blessed to have brave first responders who continue to work tirelessly to protect the Los Angeles community.” She then directed her followers to the good doings of BeyGOOD, saying “to join our efforts in supporting those impacted, please visit @BeyGOOD. Love, B.”
Beyoncé originally shared her cryptic IG announcement on Christmas Day, posting a video of herself riding a white horse and waving an American flag. The video ended by showing the date “1.14.2025,” and featured a caption (an irregular move for Bey) that read “Look at that horse,” and that was about it. Bey’s fans and followers have since speculated what the big reveal would bring — would it be an album or a new tour? However, understandably her fans will have to wait a bit longer to find out.
