Marking 20 years since her 2005 American Idol win, 8X-GRAMMY winner Carrie Underwood will sing a medley of her biggest hits live in Times Square just before the ball drops, following earlier performances from CMA New Artist of the Year Megan Moroney, and U.K. singer-songwriter Sophie Ellis-Bextor making her New Year’s Rockin’ Eve debut with her massive hit “Murder on the Dancefloor.”
Hosted by Ryan Seacrest -- his 20th year at the helm -- alongside singer Rita Ora, they join this year’s previously announced performers for the 54th New Year’s Rockin’ Eve Lenny Kravitz, and Teddy Swims, as well as Country superstars Cody Johnson, and Thomas Rhett. Dayanara Torres will return as co-host in Puerto Rico.
Underwood says of her upcoming set, “I have such fun memories of performing on New Year's Rockin’ Eve in Times Square in both 2007 and 2015, and I’m so excited to perform just before the ball drops again this year. I’m thrilled to celebrate 20 years since winning ‘American Idol’ by joining Ryan as he hosts his 20th New Year’s Eve in Times Square.”
