This one’s for the birds. Actually, it’s for a very lucky bird.
A Golden Pheasant named Lord Pheatherington is available for adoption at the Peninsula Humane Society and SPCA. You might have guessed that Lord Pheatherington was named by a staff member who also happens to be a big fan of "Bridgerton," the smash hit from streaming giant Netflix.
“He’s a bit of a dandy for sure," said Buffy Martin Tarbox, communications manager at the Peninsula Humane Society and SPCA. "He has beautiful, beautiful coloring and a beautiful mop of hair.”
Lord Pheatherington was found in a San Mateo front yard, unable to fly.
"We were able to safely net him and we did see that he had many broken wing feathers and also he’s missing his tail feathers, so we assumed he had been grabbed by a predator of some sort, but then escaped or got dropped," she said. "But he is a very lucky pheasant to still be alive."

His tail feathers will grow back for a stunning golden plume.
The Lord is the size of a chicken and quite social. No one has come forward to claim Lord Pheatherington, so he’s available for adoption.
His ideal new home would include an outdoor predator-proof, fully-covered enclosure and another pheasant flock or a group of female chickens. He’s with female chickens now which are also up for adoption.
Those who want to meet Lord Pheatherington will need to call ahead to the Peninsula Humane Society and make an appointment.
