A very generous middle school teacher just got a big surprise from television talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres after she learned he was looking out for his students.
It’s Teacher Appreciation Week, and for Ruben Caceres it’s safe to say it’ll be a memorable one.
Ellen heard that Caceres, a teacher at Hector Garcia Middle School in Dallas, Texas, was using his stimulus money to make masks for his students and their families to help protect them from the spread of coronavirus.
To show her appreciation, Ellen gave the special education teacher a $25,000 gift.
Caceres says he just wanted to make sure his students had the supplies to be safe and healthy.
